Life Behind Windows, I suppose, is the story of growing up and deciding that it was time to "get my shit together." I had moved to Baltimore to pursue my career in sound design, my wife at the time was overcoming addiction and finding her path in life as well. My world existed between our little Baltimore row house, the train to work, and my office looking out onto a wooded hill.

In all of those places, I would silently stare out the window and feel increasingly isolated and disconnected from the world, each day seemingly the same as the last. It was my first time in nearly 15 years away from my friends, my community, and my mother. I felt lost, and in need of finding out who I was untethered from everyone who knew me.

While the description of this time seems dark and stark, it was a necessary step on the shift to being a happy, stable, and adventurous adult version of myself.

If you do it right, changing, and learning new things about yourself never ends.
